Cruising Princess
She followed her bosom across the room.
It was the prow of a ship, splitting the sea.
Behind her, the coconuts in the palm trees
looked like a lesson in cell division.
The sighing of waves on the sand
could have been human. In her wake,
laughter is the same in any language.

And a jolly time was had by all until...My 55 is here
Oh, that really makes me want to be on my 89th cruise somewhere, anywhere!!!!
teehee. the picture this one gave me...and i thought of jealous coconuts...oh well. happy weekend!
If I followed MY bosoms, I'd not go across the room, I'd fall through the deck!!! Mine go where gravity takes 'em.
Here is my Flash 55 for the week. [scroll down below my Show n Tell feature]
Have a wonderful Friday.
"laughter is the same in any language" I like that. Actually, I like the entire 55 word creation.
Boobs lead the way always. Conversation always follows.
The imagery of the coconuts is great, Chris. You have me thinking though, on the truth in the last line. Is laughter the same in any language? I imagine a multitude of skin tones and variable materials and colours. I imagine our north american unapologetic laugheter and then think back to the Chinese women's laughter behind hands, even there in Taiwan, an international hub, a democracy and world economy, and I wonder on all of the social pressure in two directions, toward history and toward a very modern world, and I wonder if our laughter is the same in its origins? Truly, this has me thinking.
Good morning.

LOL! I've never taken a cruise, but I can imagine this is a familiar sight!
Nice one. I love to see ships passing by. Great photo!
Chris, I hope you don't mind, I linked to you today. You let me know if you'd like me to pull that link, ok? Your story (and your mom's) has obviously impacted me.

Oh, my, somewhat graphic images formed in my mind with that one. It reminded me of... well, never mind.

Excellent 55 My Dear...You Rock!
Thanks for visiting, thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End...G
Glad you are feeling like writing for the 55. The cruise ships are so large and like mini Las Vegas with all the lights and 24 hour activities. I like how you bring up the fact the everyone enjoys the get away no matter what language is spoken.
Wow I laughed out loud at this one. Anyone I know? Those leering sands!
Cruise ships are the convalescent homes of tomorrow, I hear they are cheaper!
Metaphores be with you!

Nice. Thanks for the poem and photo. It's gotten a little chilly here again, so a cruise and tropical weather sounds pretty good. Have a great weekend!

Oh, sweet....
Beautifully scripted! I could almost hear the waves. (((HUGS)))
Dianne wanted me to alert you to my post from yesterday - it has to do with boobs! I enjoyed your 55 - am possibly planning a cruise in Europe soon!
I like the line about laughter because it's so true. Well done!
So many ways to read this. But my first thought? "Those cannot be real."
